Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 July 2026

These terms govern your use of Forgehold. By creating an account, starting a trial, or paying for a server, you agree to them. Forgehold is operated by a sole operator trading as Forgehold, reachable at hello@forgehold.gg.

1. What we provide

Forgehold is a managed game-server hosting service. Today we host Project Zomboid servers on dedicated hardware. We handle provisioning, updates, backups, and the day-to-day operation of the server so you can focus on playing.

Service is sold as a monthly subscription, billed through our payment processor, Stripe. New subscriptions begin with a 3-day free trial: your card is not charged until the trial ends, after which the monthly fee is charged automatically and recurs each month until you cancel. Prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice; a price change never affects the current paid month.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and on your servers. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Forgehold to:

  • —Host, store, or distribute illegal content, or content you have no right to share.
  • —Abuse our infrastructure — for example by attempting to escape your container, attacking other servers, mining cryptocurrency, running unrelated workloads, or otherwise using the server for anything beyond hosting your game.
  • —Harass other players, send spam, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system.
  • —Interfere with, overload, or degrade the service for other customers.

Mods and workshop content are installed at your own risk. Project Zomboid mods come from the Steam Workshop and are authored by third parties we do not control. We validate mod updates in a throwaway container before applying them to your live world, but we cannot guarantee any mod is safe, stable, or compatible with your save. You choose which mods to run and accept the consequences of running them.

4. Service levels and downtime credits

We aim for high availability but provide the service on a best-effort basis. We do not promise uninterrupted uptime, and planned maintenance, mod updates, restarts, and game-server crashes outside our control are expected parts of running a game server.

For unplanneddowntime that is our fault, we offer a credit: 5% of your monthly fee for each hour of unplanned downtime, capped at 100% of that month’s fee. Credits are applied to your next invoice on request — email hello@forgehold.gg with your server details and the approximate window. Credits are currently reviewed and applied manually. Credits are the sole remedy for downtime and have no cash value.

5. Your data and backups

Your world saves are backed up off-site every 3 hours, with a rolling 7-day retention window. Backups are a convenience, not a guarantee — you are encouraged to keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable.

If you cancel, or if we suspend your service, we retain your server data for 30 days and then permanently delete it. During that window you can ask us to restore or export it. After 30 days it is gone and cannot be recovered.

6. Suspension and termination

You may cancel at any time from your dashboard or by emailing us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, fails to pay, or puts our infrastructure or other customers at risk. We will try to give notice where practical, but serious abuse or legal risk may require immediate action.

7. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund & Credit Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: a 3-day free trial precedes any charge, and a 7-day money-back guarantee covers your first payment.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Forgehold is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost game progress, lost data, or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Trademarks

Project Zomboid is a trademark of The Indie Stone. Forgehold is an independent hosting provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Indie Stone. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state, without limiting any non-excludable consumer rights available to you.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, make a reasonable effort to notify you. Continuing to use Forgehold after a change means you accept the updated terms.
